Sure, sure...the picture looks a little odd/creepy - but elle wanted me to take a picture of her clapping for herself while she was laying in her 'beautiful bed' - that she made ALL BY HERSELF!

I told Isla that she could dress herself for school yesterday - and promised her she could wear whatever she picked out. She took about 20 minutes walking around the house and came up with this outfit, and was insanely proud of herself.

A promise is a promise - so we went to school with a pair of sandals, 'nice' pants, a pajama top, a t-shirt over the pajama top, two necklaces, my watch, a purse with a pair of gloves and 1/3rd of a waffle, three bracelets, a bib, and sunglasses:

I was downloading this picture the other day - sitting on the couch with elle, and she asked if she could "have a talk with me".

After a few minutes of talking about princesses - she said that she is very sorry, but she doesn't 'love' pizza anymore, she only 'likes' it.

She then went on to explain that she hasn't liked pizza since she was 8 years old.

We made a quick trip to the Austin Rodeo, and the highlight of the trip was finally getting to see Whiplash, the Monkey Cowboy:

After a half-dozen trips between the living room, the ktichen, and the playroom - we decided to see what Isla was up to...looks like she thought little bear was hungry.

He doesn't know how lucky he is - she even shared her bagel:

SXSW.

Music was all over Austin this weekend, so elle had her first SXSW concert experience. By virtue of accidental timing and opportunity, we found ourselves at the front row of a show that was reported to be "the most buzzworthy act of the weekend". Sounds good, right?

Well...since I don't regularly keep up with the hardcore female rap scene in Baltimore - I had no clue what Rye-Rye sounded like, so we stuck around.

You will never guess who turned out to be the highlight of the show - Rye Rye even stopped one of her songs (Freaker on the Speaker, I believe) and asked if elle would come up onto the stage and join her backup dancers.

Luckily, elle was too busy doing the Snoopy-dance to listen to the lyrics.

After the show, Rye Rye asked us to come inside and she gave elle an autographed poster, and more importantly - a sticker.

She was so excited that we went home and put the poster on the refrigerator. Who wouldn't want to look at Rye Rye every time you need to get some food?
