The Periodic Table of Elle

A few facts about our friend, Helium (He).

Elemental helium is an unreactive, colourless odourless monoatomic (noble) gas

Helium is the second most abundant element in the universe after hydrogen

With an atomic weight of 4.0002344, α particles are doubly ionised helium atoms, He2+

It takes one massive, blue, pressurized ballon to lift the leg of a baby named elle:

The forecast?

Well, it was another perfectly gloomy day in Austin - 40s and rain, so you know what that means:

BIKINI TIME!

Tuesday, January 23, 2007

Hey, Red.

If this keeps up, elle's hair will look like Ronald McDonald in a few months...

The Un-Original Post

Sometimes, I see the picture and it triggers an idea....sometimes it works the other-way-around.

When I downloaded this picture, my first thought was that elle looked like the goofy Gerber baby.

I did a quick search to find the original Gerber picture, and found that nearly every single nutso parent with a baby blog -- at some point -- thought that their precious little offspring looked JUST like the Gerber baby.

How lame.

So - here is our Generic Baby Food Label Baby:

Just a thought...

The Abominable Snowbunny

I really think so...

Since we have trapped in our Igloo for 3 days, I decided to make good use of the time to prepare for our upcoming move to Tokyo - I am working on learning Nihongo, the official language.

My favorite sentence so far...

右も左も支配する頭は今日も肉を食いヨダレを垂らす.

Isn't that great!

Let it Ice, Let it Ice, Let it Ice....

Outside - the city is totally paralyzed by a dash of winter...the city is a ghost-town, and there has even been some snowy-looking things falling at random from the sky:

Inside - It's like a day in Rio...the mojitos are flowing, Samba music shakes the floor, and the bikini makes its' 2007 debut:

Thanks, Rabbi

The Alphabet

Just in case you forget...A is for Aardvark, B is for Burro, C is for Chinchilla, D is for Dingo, and...

Greetings from Blogger.

Google needs to get their act together - no uploads on Blogger...again.

Sorry.

What I Did on My Christmas Vacation...

We had a looooonnnnng time in the car -- of course, the entire trip across Interstate 20 was spent safely strapped in the car seat:

Since it is still legal to use farm animals for 'personal pleasure' in Mississippi - elle spent that stretch of road mugging with Mr. Lamb:

Rolled-over for the first time...no sweat:

Ate mushy things from a spoon for the first time:

Learned to hold my own damn bottle:

Carefully opened up a few presents:

And spent the rest of the trip lounging around in my robe:

Remember Me?

See...I'm not the frowning monster in yesterday's picture - I am still fantastically edible:

Not guilty.

Blogger is acting goofy - no pics until they take their medicine!

What! No posts for 3 weeks!!!

Sorry for the extended absence...we know everyone missed this beautiful face...

Whoa. Big Day...

We started off with a visit to the pediatrician. Great guy, but he happens to employ a lady who has chosen the wrong profession, I will now refer to her as The World's Meanest Nurse until she changes my mind.

Four sticks! Photographic evidence of the damage:

Then, to round out the morning - I had a strange feeling that elle wanted some of my 11 o'clock banana.

The following 5 minutes were....interesting:

Elf You.

This will take you to an external site (Office Max, of all places...) - but it is worth every second of time.

I have no clue how to embed links - but click on the little blue question mark.

Seriously. Trust Me.

Appreciation for fine operatic performance has been on the decrease for far too many years -- it is my hope that this video clip helps strengthen your interest in this classical art...

'tis the season

Look what we found in our couch - our own little Gingerbread Baby:

In the name of the father...

Prayer before meals? Sure.

Before bed? Why not.

But elle has a new one for you - she has decided to throw down a prayer during bath-time:

The Abominable Baby

Lucky for all of you innocent villagers, we have this big-eared, fuzzy creature strapped down so she won't attack anyone:

The Cardinal

I know, I know - it is actually called the Baby Jogger...but **jogging** has a certain connotation that implies a more liesurely pace than elle is capable of acheiving, so she wanted to rename her new ride as the Turbospeed 3000 Mega-Baby Hypermove Rocket, aka The Cardinal.

Here are a couple of pics of elle in her new home-away-from-home:

One from the viewpoint of the cars we will run off the road while we play chicken into oncoming traffic:

And one taken by your trusty pilot:

My Christmas List

I only really want one thing this year -- if you find one on sale, even if it is a different color - go ahead and grab it for me!

A lightbulb-changing orangtuan:

Uh...Hello?

Do you think I could get a little help here?

What's in that trunk?

We can only hope she grows into this belly...and I wouldn't recommend reminding her of her new saddlebags in back - she gets cranky:

Monday, December 4, 2006

DANGER! DANGER!

For the safety of everyone - hide the children and stay indoors until further notice!

A jaguar has been seen roaming the streets of West Austin:

Brrrr...

Lookie here - it finally got cold in Austin!

Squeaky was a bit confused by the need for headwear, but she was straight-rockin' the hoodie.

So long, sucker!

That's right kids, elle was *encouraged* to get rid of the pacifier this week -- she didn't have much say in the matter, but cold-turkey is the only way to go.

With all of the free time that she created by not sucking - she has picked up cross-stitching, learning some (basic) Mandarin Chinese, and fixed the weatherstripping on the french doors in back.

Please, a moment of silence for the last picture of elle and our good friend, The Pacifier:
