Smiles everyone!

One of the greatest joys of being a new father is seeing the twinkle in the deep blue eyes of our beautiful new daughter when she gives us a huge smile when we wake her up in the morning...

This is NOT one of those moments:

Gigglesnort

Remember that show? The Gigglesnort Hotel? Had the a character named the Dirty Dragon, and some other creepy 70s puppet things...I think it came on Channel 11 before the Bugaloos. I know someone has to remember the Bugaloos?

They're in the air and everywhere...flying free as the summer breeze...

Anywho - elle is starting to giggle until she snorts. Pretty classic stuff. She will giggle, start to snort, and then the snorting scares her - so she starts crying.

Es O Si Que Es

Another great title...go ahead, try again -- you'll get it later.

We have always felt that every outfit should be complimented by a nice, well-fitting pair of socks that perfectly match the rest of the ensemble -- case in point:

Don't mind us...

We are taking elle to the friendly skies this weekend, wish us the best of luck.

Updates if time permits, but we will probably won't see you again until late Monday.

I suppose I will leave you with an old favorite to get you through the weekend.

You big, silly rabbit:

Tandoori Child

We have been very flexible with elle's free time lately, but if we don't start teaching her the basics of computing (especially the back-end contruction of relational database programming) right now, she will never get a job over in India when she turns 2 years old.

Rollin' with the Impala.

Good people deserve to have their wishes granted...That being said, let it be known that getting a wide-awake, 8-week old to sit still long enough to balance this deformed toy on her head only took an hour out of my day.

Thank Jebus for digital, because 47 shots later....

Gotham

I know how much people love it when I post things that have absotively nothing to do with elle, so here is another...

As everyone has been on the front row to witness my total lack of photgraphy skills **point, click, crop**, I was quite impressed when I ran across this picture that a friend took a couple of weeks ago. He bought this insanely expensive High-Definition camera and took some filter photos of the Brooklyn Bridge during the last full moon. Try and tell me this doesn't make you want to go to NYC right now to see it in person:

Ready for Liftoff

Apart from having to buckle, snap, click, and lock her into place like she is an astronaut- I often think that shuttle launches are more efficient than our 'quick' trips up to Central Market.

Good idea!

For the past month that we have ventured out to dinner with elle, everyone has been very accomodating - typically the host/hostess will get us a high chair - flip it upside down - and it seems to fit the car-seat just perfect. Last Sunday, I noticed this sticker on the bottom...oops.

Where did he come from?

Look who's back -- it's our old buddy L'il Brooklyn!!!

He hasn't made an appearance since elle was 2 days old...but he is back - and hungry!

Really? Are you serious?

The fish was THAT big?

Yo DJ, play that song for me.

I have resisted the urge to take requests, but nearly everyone has asked for a picture of our whole crew.

Easier said than done.

Frequent vistors may have noticed that most pictures are strategically posed while she is in my lap - I try to do some creative cropping, but you will notice that 90% of the pictures have my legs as the background -- not great, but better than a fake library scene.

The other 10% of pictures are snapped while she is snoozing -- and when I forget to cancel the flash...Oh Lordy.

Aunt MC was kind enough to cross-post us on her new blog, so I stole the picture and here we have it -- not exactly Vanity Fair material, but elle is giving a little shout-out - which puts her a few notches above that retard Suri - again!

No worries in Austin...

Lookie, lookie! - MC's first shot at being an Aunt:

In other news, elle decided to put on her favorite pants and pull them wayyyyy up to let Aunt MC know that she was going to have an awesome day!

So here's to a speedy recovery, and Old Man Pants!

Would you please back the hell up?

Flumpkin, Schmupkin.

This sucks.

As websites and newspapers around the U.S. are suggesting their favorite fall recipes -- crafty soups, clever squash casseroles, and countless pumpkin muffin variations -- we are still broiling like a bunch of swamp donkeys.

October 5th in Austin - Heat Index of 102.

Ugh.

Excellent, Smithers...Excellent.

Here we have elle doing her best Montgomery Burns impression, plotting her global takeover:

We've got ourselves a genius!!!

How else could you possibly explain the fact that she can replicate a map of the Bahamas in her spit-up?

Why does the Gatorade taste funny?

I think elle let out a bit of giggle this morning when she peed on me, so this kinda' seems suitable. Well, not really, but it is funny anyway...

Don't ya wanna

Wrap her up, put her in your pocket and take her everywhere...
